This Almanac about Venice History

comes from years of research in the Frari Archives, in the Marciana Library and in Correr Museum.
Between old shelves, turning the pages of ancient Buste, Raspe, Commentarii, I could taste the emotion of touching manuscripts, with signatures and seals of Procuratori, Dogi, Condottieres...
I transcribed the many interesting things I have discovered part on books, others on slide-shows, others more are just laying as simple notes on my personal archives.

Àˆ la festa di Santa Rita.
Una volta si benedicevano solennemente in tutte le chiese il pane e le rose. Queste ultime venivano conservate con cura in quanto con i petali si facevano infusi mentre il pane benedetto veniva conservato per i malati.

Viene firmato un trattato con Roberto Conte di Fiandra.
22 May 1407
Àˆ istituita la solenne processione del Corpus Domini.
22 May 1709
Al primo scrutinio viene acclamato Doge Giovanni II Comer.
Il suo sarÀ  un Dogado sfortunato, cominciato in piena pace ma terminato purtroppo con la guerra contro i Turchi che si ripresero la Morea.
