This Almanac about Venice History

comes from years of research in the Frari Archives, in the Marciana Library and in Correr Museum.
Between old shelves, turning the pages of ancient Buste, Raspe, Commentarii, I could taste the emotion of touching manuscripts, with signatures and seals of Procuratori, Dogi, Condottieres...
I transcribed the many interesting things I have discovered part on books, others on slide-shows, others more are just laying as simple notes on my personal archives.

5 April 1106
Tragica giornata per Venezia.
Prima un terribile incendio devasta diciotto contrade e danneggia la Basilica di San Marco e il Palazzo Ducale; poi, come non bastasse, segue un terremoto che procura altri danni alla nostra martoriata cittÀ .
5 April 1274
Bartolomeo Querini viene eletto Vescovo di Castello.
5 April 1496
Viene denunciato al Consiglio dei Dieci da parte del Consiglio Comunale di Padova l' Avogador di Comun Bernardo Bembo. Contro il parere dei Cittadini padovani costui aveva intrapreso l'abbattimento di un vasta boscaglia posta tra Arsego e Busiago.
Il pronto intervento del PodestÀ  di Padova impedÀ¬ il delitto.
5 April 1734
Il Pubblico gioco del Lotto viene rinnovato. La prima estrazione avviene a beneficio dei Luoghi Pii e delle povere donzelle.
